What is Interstitial Ads?

Insterstitial advertisements, are ads shown when a user is redirected to another page, or a file download, covering all the page.

Generally, when these ads are shown, a countdown appears in the top of the screen and you must wait until it finishes. Some of them, are 5 seconds and others 10 seconds.

When It finishes other option is shown: Skip Ad. Clicking on it, you'll be redirected to the desired page, a text or a download page.

The most famous system that utilizes this kind of ads is Adfly. For working with this type of ad, the platform became popular among bloggers that post torrent files, because Google Adsense do not acept these blogs to monetize this kind of content. So bloggers have to find other way to earn money, and ends up using the Adfly as an alternative mean to monetize.

In the most of cases these ads are intrusive and may disturb the web surfer. It may make the user close the page generating a large bounce rate, if he is not used to visit pages like this one.
